Wearable telecare, built from a real family experience

Navigil is a privately owned company headquartered in Salo, Finland, with products used in about 15 countries.

Our story

A problem worth solving

The idea that became Navigil began in 2007, prompted by a close family experience — a relative's fall and broken hip, and the realisation that there was no good way for an older person to call for help. The wearable telecare devices that existed at the time were stigmatising and only worked at home, within range of a speakerphone. There had to be something better.

Nav Com Oy was founded in 2010. The following year, the acquisition of Fastrax's track & trace business gave the company the technical foundation to build wearable devices that worked anywhere — not just indoors. That step set Navigil on its path to becoming a leading provider of wearable telecare products and services.

Since then, Navigil has grown into a company whose watches are worn every day across about 15 countries — by people who want to stay independent, and by the families and carers who want to know they're safe.

How we work

Sold and supported through trusted partners

Navigil is sold and supported through telehealthcare providers and channel partners — including mobile operators, insurance companies, and wellbeing device brands — rather than direct to consumers. The Navigil Service platform connects with major alarm receiving centres, supporting the care workflows that providers and operators depend on.

Quality

Engineering and manufacturing

Navigil's engineering is focused on high-quality products and services. Manufacturing is handled by ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified electronics manufacturing services (EMS) partners. Sourcing prioritises quality and long-term reliability, using components with second sources where feasible, supported by long-term manufacturing partnerships.

Data protection

Security and privacy

Personal data is handled in accordance with GDPR. Data on Navigil's cloud servers is encrypted, and all communications use secure VPN tunnels over redundant private APNs.
